After
Surgery
As important as the actual surgery event is to getting you started on the journey to better health, the post-surgery program is equally important to getting you there and preventing regain of your weight and return of your weight-related illnesses. Dallas Bariatric Surgery Center understands the significance of a strong aftercare program and has brought together a highly skilled and experienced team of professionals to provide the best in pre-and post-surgery education. We have a highly structured educational program for each operation and work either in your surgeon’s office or at our offices in Garland to bring this to you. Adherence to the visit schedules are not a guarantee of success, but the better you stick to this schedule the higher the probability of long-term success.
Our educational program focuses on the mechanics of eating with your chosen procedure, how to adapt to healthy eating habits that are needed for your procedure, better food choices, and the interaction of nutrition with your body’s metabolism. We do exhaustive research on vitamin and protein supplements so that we can recommend the products that will work best for you. In many cases supplies will be provided to our clients to get them started on the correct habits immediately after surgery.
Lap-Bands® require adjustments and maintenance. Dallas is pleased to provide expert care and adjustments for lap-bands, regardless of whether your surgery was performed at our hospital or not. We will offer competitive pricing for band adjustments for individuals who will be unable to use insurance benefits for the service.
Support groups are very important to the success of our clients. We want all of you to be able to access a group that will meet in a convenient location for you, so we try to bring the meetings to various locations. Currently, we are offering the following locations:
- Hospital (Garland)
- Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas
- Medical City Hospital of Dallas
- Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville
