Dr. Alibhai and the team at NOVA Bariatrics understand their patients’ goals in weight loss and treating obesity. Dr. Alibhai is a board-certified general surgeon who is founder and President of Nova Bariatrics and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UT Health in Houston prior to founding Nova Bariatrics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
Dr. Alibhai grew up in the heart of west Texas where hospitality is the way of life. As such, he has a warm and welcoming approach to caring for his patients. He enjoys being an active member of his community, playing flag football and cycling, and spending time with his family, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys!
