Brachioplasty
What Is Brachioplasty
Brachioplasty, or an arm lift, is a surgery that removes extra skin and fat from the upper arms to make them look smoother and more toned. It’s a good option if you have sagging skin from aging, weight loss, or genetics that doesn’t improve with exercise.
Benefits of Brachioplasty
Our arm lift surgery offers more than just better-looking arms; it also gives you:
- Better Arm Shape: Feel confident wearing sleeveless clothes with arms that look firmer and more toned.
- Improved Hygiene: Removing extra skin helps prevent irritation and infections in skin folds.
- Less Sweating: With fewer sweat glands in the treated area, you may notice less underarm sweating. This is especially helpful if you sweat a lot.
- More Confidence: Feeling good about how your arms look can boost your self-esteem and help you feel more comfortable in your body.
Brachioplasty at NOVA Bariatrics & General Surgery
Our Brachioplasty (arm lift) process starts with a detailed consultation to understand your goals and choose the best option for you. Our doctor will review your medical history, check your skin, and explain what results you can expect. It’s also a great time to ask any questions or share concerns. We offer different types of arm lifts based on how much skin and fat need to be removed. These types include:
- Standard Arm Lift: Best for moderate to severe sagging. It involves an incision along the back or inside of the arm to remove extra skin and fat. The scar is placed in a hidden spot to reduce its visibility.
- Mini Arm Lift: Ideal for mild sagging. It uses a small incision hidden in the armpit. This is a less invasive option with a quicker recovery.
- Extended Arm Lift: This is for more significant sagging. It tightens skin from the upper arm down to the chest for a smoother, more natural look.
Recovery & Aftercare
You will need to follow our wound care steps to help your skin heal and keep scarring to a minimum. It’s important to avoid heavy lifting or intense activity for a few weeks so your body can heal properly. You will also have follow-up visits with Dr. Alibhai to check your progress and make sure everything is going well. You may see some changes right away, but the final results will become more noticeable as the swelling goes down. You need to be patient, as your body needs time to heal and adjust to its new shape.
