Lower Body Lift
Am I a Candidate for a Lower Body Lift
The Lower Body Lift is ideal for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- You have loose, sagging skin around your abdomen, thighs, hips, and buttocks that doesn’t respond to diet or exercise.
- You’ve achieved significant weight loss and have maintained a stable weight for at least 6 months.
- You are in overall good health, without underlying conditions that could complicate healing.
- You do not smoke, or are committed to quitting before and after surgery to promote optimal healing.
- You have a clear understanding of what a Lower Body Lift can achieve and are excited about the potential results.
What to Expect from the Lower Body Lift Procedure
We follow the procedures mentioned below to bring out the best results:
- Anesthesia
For your safety and comfort, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia, ensuring a pain-free experience during the surgery. - Incisions and Skin Removal
A strategically placed circumferential incision is made around the lower torso, allowing the removal of excess skin and fat. The incision is designed to be as discreet as possible, hidden within natural folds of your body. - Skin Tightening and Contouring
After excess skin is removed, the remaining skin is lifted and tightened to restore a firmer, more youthful contour. Depending on your needs, liposuction may be used to further sculpt the area, ensuring a smooth, balanced result. - Closing the Incisions
Once the skin has been tightened, the incisions are carefully closed with sutures. In some cases, drains may be placed to remove excess fluid and prevent complications.
Recovery and Aftercare Instructions
Typically, the surgery lasts between 4 to 6 hours, though the duration can vary depending on the extent of the surgery. Our expert, Dr. Alibhai and his team will provide the tips for you to make sure that everything go well during your recovery period.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks.
- Gentle walking is encouraged to promote circulation and reduce the risk of blood clots.
- You’ll need to refrain from bending over or performing any movements that may strain your healing tissues.
Regular check-ins with your surgeon will be necessary to monitor your healing and ensure everything is progressing as expected. Drains, if placed, will be removed during these visits.
What Results Can I Expect
